The Awards Ceremony will take place at the
House of Commons on Thursday 16th October 2008.


Our Mission

"The Ambulance Service Institute is dedicated to improving the professionalism and quality of Pre-Hospital Care"


Our Objectives

To promote, advance and encourage the education and development of all those persons engaged in the provision of pre-hospital care.

To represent the interests of its' members by pro-actively influencing developments in the pre-hospital care sector.

 

The ASI is Re-defining Itself
New and improved procedures are planned to nclude:

  • A new and improved Membership Programme
    A modernised website with a dedicated members zone.
    A programme of events to support Continued Professional Learning.

Joining The ASI

Applicants are welcome from all aspects of pre-hospital care including:

Members of the voluntary aid societies or groups, military medical staff, oil rig medics, private ambulance service employees, first aid instructors, community first responders, cave and mountain rescue teams, RNLI, fire and rescue personnel, police and security organisations and individuals who are engaged in patient care or have a strong interest in pre-hospital care are encouraged to join.

Ambulance Service Institute
Bravery Medal

The Ambulance Service Institute Bravery Medal is not an annual award and is not sponsored by any company. It can be presented at any time of the year at the discretion of the President’s Committee. Ambulance Service Chief Executives or Chairman can nominate one or more individual members of their NHS Ambulance Service for any act of bravery, which is considered to be above and beyond the call of duty.

The Ambulance Services Benevolent Fund web site , which has been created to highlight the help it gives to any serving or retired NHS ambulance personnel in times of genuine hardship, poverty or distress.

Narcaid is a project whose aim it is to promote the competent management of drug related emergencies by ambulance personnel. It provides distance training in a specialised form of drug awareness known as ECODA (Emergency Care Oriented Drug Awareness).
The Medical Indemnity Register (MIR) is an independent body founded in 1990.

We are medically orientated and deal with individuals, companies, insurance brokers and intermediaries etc. We are conversant with both medical and insurance matters.

Our prime aim is to offer cost effective medical insurance cover to protect anyone in the immediate care field against a claim of medical malpractice or negligence.
