Martyn Tillet (LAS)

Martyn single-handed, prevented an attempted rape and detained the perpetrator for more than 15 minutes until police arrived.

Madeline Basford-Herd (LAS)

Frank put his own life on the line three times to save two strangers when he came face to face with a violent attacker who had already killed one man and left another for dead.

 

Madeline was assessing the patient in the back of her ambulance when he pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot her and her crewmate. She remained calm and distracted the patient allowing the driver and herself to escape

Climbed in to a flooded car upside down in a ditch to keep the driver’s head above water when the water level was rapidly rising

Simon Spencer (LAS)

in recognition of his actions while responding to an emergency call in north London, during which he sustained stab wounds to his hands, head and abdomen, but continued working until he had taken patient to hospital

 For treating patients while being attacked by a large, ferocious Alsatian dog

 For crawling in to the ruins of a block of flats to rescue a man with severe burns following a gas explosion

  Treating a severely injured casualty under an underground train while the power was turned on and the train was moved out of the way
